Scottish biologist and academic Anne Glover once said, “It takes half a millennia to build two centimeters of living soil and only seconds to destroy it.” It is our belief, like Glover’s, that we can lose our precious earth in a very short time if we don’t put some controls and strategy on our land.
We can’t say enough about the importance of erosion control. We admit – it’s all we think about. We not only offer an array of products, we continue to find ways to improve on that device. We believe in offering our customers a strategic range of erosion protection and drainage techniques. We take a fundamental look at the specific parcels of land that will be using our products, recommending ways that best meets the needs of preserving the land and controlling erosion. Some of our environmental solutions include:
Filter Sock. If your goal is less pollution in the water, the go-to product is the Filter Sock. The Filter Sock is best described as a tubular mesh sleeve that contains composted wood material. The Filter Sock is the most effective form of erosion control and/or water runoff solutions. Our silt sock is installed on site to trap gravel, silt, and sediment while still allowing water to filter and pass through.
SwitchSock. Diamond Sock SwitchSock uses high-strength netting filled with switchgrass. The lightweight netting makes SwitchSock a great solution for short-term sediment control applications. During the restoration, SwitchSock can be cut open and spread like straw. One of the aspects our customers love about SwitchSock is that it is perfect for light-duty sediment control – like stream crossings or around laydown yards. It also decomposes quicker than other similar sock products.
Road Wattle. Sediment migrates from many places, often from access roads, equipment yards, or stream crossings. Road wattle is comprised of a strong green safety netting filled with a mixture of pine straw and compost, delivering a lightweight, durable, and high- performance wattle designed to be seen and easy to handle.

Blackhawk Inlet Filter Mat. This solution magnetically attaches to the storm water’s inlet grate. The vertically aligned coil fibers create a high flow, extremely effective sediment, and debris filter. Scalloped edges and top surface inlet ports create an exceptionally large filtration surface. This practically eliminates sediment, dramatically reducing chances of street flooding. This mat required no equipment installation. It also can be cleaned and reused.
