Water erosion run-off from large construction sites is a major cause of water pollution. The Pennsylvania DEP encourages the use of different forms and sizes of silt sock or compost filter sock. Silt Sock and Compost Filter Sock are the most effective form of erosion control and/or water runoff solutions. Our silt sock is installed on site to trap gravel, silt, and sediment while still allowing water to filter and pass through. Unlike Silt Fence, Compost Filter Sock and Silt Sock eliminate the need to return to the site for removal; simply slice open the netting and leave the compost to decompose naturally. We have the capability to deliver compost filter sock and compost silt sock of all sizes throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast regions. We specialize in providing full service, ready-to-use products to natural gas drilling companies, well site contractors, commercial and industrial contractors. Bedrock Environmental offers pre-filled filter sock loaded on pallets and shrink wrapped. Each pre-filled sock contains well aged, shredded, and ground hardwoods for exceptional sediment prevention.
8” continuous run compost filter sock pallet (190ft) – 19 stakes included
12” continuous run compost filter sock pallet (110ft) – 12 stakes included

Pallets can be requested to include “Filter Sock Kit.” Each pallet contains bagged filter material used for chinking, as well as the appropriate number of wooden stakes used for installation. Bedrock provides the option to have any of our palletized products (Pre-Filled Compost Filter Sock, Pre-Filled High-Viz Road Wattle, Pre-Filled SwitchSock) come in a 40x40x82 Super Sack upon request.
Diamond Sock SwitchSock uses high strength netting filled with switchgrass. The light weight makes SwitchSock a great solution for short term sediment control applications. During restoration, SwitchSock can be cut open and spread similar to straw.
Where decomposition is needed, SwitchSock is the product! SwitchSock is perfect for light-duty sediment control like stream crossings or around laydown yards and will decompose quicker than other similar sock products.
Diamond Sock SwitchSock will stay where it is intended because its exceptionally strong, pale yellow netting will not easily rupture. Switch Grass has been included on their alternative E&S and PCSM best management practice list.
SwitchSock is offered in palletized form in the following sizes:
- 8” continuous run palletized SwitchSock (205ft) – 42 stakes included
- 12” continuous run palletized SwitchSock (125ft) – 26 stakes included
- 18” continuous run palletized SwithSock (65ft) – 14 stakes included
- 24” continuous run palletized SwitchSock (40ft) – 9 stakes included

Diamond Sock Road Wattle was created to prevent sediment from migrating from access roads, equipment yards, or stream crossings. Using a robust green safety netting filled with a mixture of pine straw and compost, delivers a lightweight, durable, and high performance wattle designed to be easily visible, easy to handle, and tough.
Diamond Sock Road Wattle uses a unique 444 lbs polyester netting, the toughest wattle netting made in high visibility green. Netting is filled with pine straw, which acts as an excellent filtration and is very light in weight.
Road Wattle can be used to slow water and stop sediment. When placed at an angle, the Road Wattle will deflect sediment into vegetated area. The light weight means it can be moved and replaced with ease. The tough netting allows the Road Wattle to be moved, replaced, or even run over while maintaining its filtering ability. Road Wattle also prevents mud washing into public roads and makes an excellent ditch check.
Diamond Sock Road Wattle is durable and easy to move allowing for a one man installation team. Our Diamond Sock Road Wattle can be put down quickly with nothing more complex than a hammer for stakes.
Diamond Sock Road Wattle is offered in pre-cut, fixed lengths coming in 12ft, 15ft, and 21ft lengths.
Blackhawk Inlet Filter Mat magnetically attaches to the storm water’s inlet grate. The vertically aligned coil fibers create a high flow, extremely effective sediment and debris filter. Scalloped edges and top surface inlet ports, create an exceptionally large filtration surface; practically eliminating sediment and dramatically reducing chances of street flooding.
Blackhawk Inlet Filter Mat requires no equipment for installation and can be cleaned and re-used. Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Approved.
